Question to IV core...
After receiving the standard email respose from the congressman/senator...I am wondering are they even aware about the legal immigrants. All we are getting the standard template which is talking about only illegals and DREAM.
No mention about legals ?
Please read my earlier responses on this thread. We need to now take up this issue further and tell them we did not get satisfactory response and need serious attention to our issue as a constituent.

Can we also try to involve some professional organisations like, TIE here and NASSCOM there. Indian government should also atleast give feelers to US govt for this unjust move, even if they cannot abolish per country quota, they can atleast make it depending on few parameters:

EAD applied on Jun11th approved at TSC. Received cards yesterday.
To my surprise my EAD is valid for 2 years.
My PD is Nov 2004 EB2
I140 pending at TSC.
I thought 2 year EAD is only for cases that had approved 140. Is it not the case?

The receipt no. had SRC***** in it and when i looked it up online i saw a note stating " your applicaiton is with our Texas Center". I did send it to NSC on Jul 2.
I understand that. What I wanted to know was what number you have? SRC or LIN? And also to confirm, if it was cashed by TSC? and not the case that it was cashed by NSC and then scheduled to be transfer to TSC?

Adjustment Of Status (AOS) Application Submission Laws
An AOS application can be submitted if an immigrant visa # is immediately available at the time of filing the application.
An immigrant visa is considered available for accepting and processing AOS application if
the preference category applicant has a priority date on the waiting list which is earlier than the date shown in VB (or the VB shows that numbers for visa applicants in his or her category are current), and
(if the applicant is seeking status pursuant to section 203(b) of the Act) the applicant presents evidence that the appropriate petition filed on his or her behalf has been approved.
The Visa Office (VO) subdivides the annual preference and foreign state limitations specified in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) into twelve monthly allotments. The totals of documentarily qualified applicants that have been reported to VO are compared each month with the numbers available for the next regular allotment and numbers are allocated to reported applicants in order of their priority dates, the oldest dates first.
If there are sufficient numbers in a particular category to satisfy all reported documentarily qualified demand, the category is considered “Current.”
For example, if the Employment Third preference monthly target is 5,000 and there are only 3,000 applicants, the category is considered “Current”.

I wish and pray that God gives strength to you and your family in this difficult situation. And as fellow IV'ns have mentioned, Prayer and Faith in Life/Almighty can do wonders. By the attitude in your note, I do feel you have that ... and somehow I have a feeling things will be fine for you and your family.
As suggested by many people, if possible, please do get a 2nd opinion from a renowned doctor in India. And do start Yoga/Pranayam. Meditation and proper breathing exercise have helped folks with very serious conditions and these are surely worth trying.
And for your GC, I would second the suggestions of writing to senator and USCIS.
Your family should be your reason to continue to have faith and NOT give up...

You can do all you want and be as blunt. USCIS doesn't have to answer to you. Stop chanting the "HIGHLY SKILLED", paying all taxes, nonsense. You were not brought to the USA at gun point. You chose to come (and stay). The USA can just put one ad in the newspaper anywhere in the world and there will be 10 million highly skilled NEW people they can bring. They do not need you (us). I think we should have a poll for DC rally and it should be on IV home page so that every visitor know about it and poll.
There are a lot of people in DC like me. The permissions depend on which part of DC we want to rally.
Do we want to rally around the capitol meet congressmen and senators in the immigration sub committee?
Do we want to go to offices of USCIS and DOS and request to consider the first VB?
As some one has said, there has to be a poll on the home page and if we have to tip off media ahead.

No one can realistically claim a moral high ground here - neither EB2 nor EB3. and that includes me too! Each one of us here are looking for self interest, period. No amount of calls to empathy/sympathy/solidarity will change that.
For example, I'll get behind the whole "restore the old overflow logic for EB3" campaign in a heartbeat if we can have a consensus that EB3 will share the resulting overflow with EB3 other workers category too. EB3 other workers category is typically in worse shape than EB3-I so all the arguments presented here for EB3 (length of wait and frustration, unfairness of it all etc.) apply equally or more to the EB3 other workers. Any takers for this proposal?

EB3s of course have every right to run whatever campaign they wish but also accept that it *will* split active IV membership (rare as it is) along those lines vertically. That's why the calls to stick to "common minimum program" of visa re-capture. Only those campaigns that don't have conflict of interests will be able to draw whole IV membership behind them. It's human nature - plain and simple.

My date is not current but I understand the frustration here. However I beleive USCIS is under severe pressure to reduce the backlogs and not waste any numbers this year....so they are trying to exhaust them as and when they can...in that scenaio I guess lower hanging fruits are getting picked.
But on the bright side as I see it as more and more people get their GCs its a smaller line and the officers should be able to get to everyone's file in due course.
I completely believe the system should be FIFO but then don't you think that will be too logical for the USCIS......
Hopefully if they are able to get a lot of people out of the way they should go back to normal processing from October when new numbers are available and the pressure is somewhat less.....
Again above is my theory. I hope everyone gets their green cards soon and the line keeps moving.
