I took infopass last week in NYC and the officer told me she will contact the TSC office and get it going and gave us a document signed by her stating the same. She asked us to come back in 45 days if nothing happens.
I doubt anything will happen, I am sure I will go back in 45 days and at that time they will say, you are not current anymore or some other reason.

Looks like your PD is current. You might get your GC anytime. That is another factor I would consider if your GC gets approved before you get married.
Filing six months in advance seems to be a better idea.

Thanks for the response and I have recd the same kind of response from my lawyer too. What I find confusing is everyone cautions me saying "As a backup, maintain your H1." Is there a real need to maintain a backup? Meaning if I need to maintain my H1 why should I apply for EAD for myself? Or is it so that I can continue on H1 right now with my same company and If I get laid off I can use EAD to get another job (not everyone hires H1-Bs) and in later case my daughter will be covered because our AOS is pending? In that case if I leave the country I can reenter using our receipts and APs, is that right?

Hi,
I have applied for my EAD and I-485 in the month of June '07 and all that i have recieved so far is my wife's EAD. I still did not recieve my EAD nor the finger prints notice nor the 485 yet. I have to move to IL from TX now and i am in a big confusion now. I heard that the mails from the USICS will not be forwarded to any new address by the USPS. If i would want to change my address with the USCIS now will it be a good move or is there any other alternative that you all could suggest me...Please advice me on this issue and help me out of this situation.

You can actually call IO at USCIS and get address updated if you are in the system.

My LC is still in process after auditing (EB2). My employer wants to 'drastically' cut back my salary due the national depression, which is particularly affecting the field my company is operating in (sub-primes). If he does that, and I accept it, is LC in jeopardy? We filed back in September 2007 with a certain salary and now it will be lower. Do we have to communicate the change to the DOL? You are OK as long is 140 is approved and 180 days have passed since Filing 485... BUT
if yor employer get to know your intention and cancel 140 between 180 and 200 days before 140 is approved , you are screwed...

Let's say I 140 is approved after 200 (greater than 180) days, If employer revokes I 140 after 230 days (let's say he is pissed off that i left the company using Ac 21 portability)
will it create any issue for my GC ?

If you don't know the answer, please don't reply. Just because this person asked about getting GC through his/ her baby, it does not mean the person is here illegally or if even this person is in the US. I friend of mine died in an accident in Mumbai and he is survived by his wife and two kids (the kids were born here in the US). His wife asked me the same question and after asking my lawyer, I had to tell her that there is no way she can apply for GC through her children unless her children turn 21.
Oh don't be such a sourpuss. This is an internet forum, and the last I checked, there was no forum rule stating replies had to be relevant, to the point, and incredibly boring. I had got a similar enquiry from DOL couple of years back. They were explicit in asking about being paid while on bench. In my case I have had minimal bench time and hence answered accordingly. I am sure there must be other employees in my company (desi IT consulting) who are getting paid irregularly.
I do not think it will effect your new H1B decision. Bottom line is do not lie. If you don't want to tell the truth, don't reply to them.
